Takeaways from the OSU loss

Final Score- OSU 82 IU 70

Starting out the gate, the game looked promising with Yogi and Collin Hartman sinking a 3 a piece and Troy Williams hitting a 2, to bring the score up 8-2, but from that point D'Angelo Russell took over and OSU's offense capitalized on IU's smaller size, and IU's defense was non existent. Russell went in beast mode today for most of the game, plain and simple. IU's most points came in when Russell sat out a few minutes, but OSU's defense stopped out ability to spread out the floor, and stopped many shots from the arch and the paint. OSU forced 11 turnovers in the first half of the game.

The second half started out very shaky and Coach had to burn a timeout in the first 2 minutes to regroup, but it did little to bring the team back, and Russell and Scott took off from there. Some hope came in the game when Russell went out of the game for a leg cramp. IU started to score, and Hartman nailed two 3's to bring OSU's lead down to 6, but that was the last burst IU would have in the game. Russell came back in with 5 minutes left and ran the floor until he went out at 2:40 with more severe leg cramps, but the damage had already been done. Yogi got blocked easy, JBJ got denied in the paint, and Troy was held to only 8 points. IU had 15 turnovers, in which OSU converted into 26 points. Hartman managed to go 4-5 in 3 point shots.

We have to get passed this because we have little brother next week, and I hope we whip them and make the Boiler fans cry like UK fans always do.

What must we have next week to win:
-Defend
-Control the ball
-Better shot placement
-Rebound
-Beat the hell out of little brother

Half Time Stats are first two. Final stats are final two.
